The power of Walser water

The Naturkneipp areas in summer are coveted resting areas on the trails. Cool your feet and head on hot days and get the circulation going!

Summer is finally here! He spoils us with blue sky, warming sunshine on our faces and dream conditions fpr any outdoor activity.

From sunrise hiking to the Gehrenspitze to biking through Bärgunttal or a leisurely evening wald on the Oberer Höhenweg - we can't get enough of fragrant meadows and colourful seas of flowers along the way. The razor sharp mountain panorama seems endless these summer days.

But sometimes, when the temperatures seem to rise beyond measure, we don't think about our next hike but of the next soothing cool down. A fixed part of our daily routine in summer is therefore a visit to one of the four natural Kneipp areas in Kleinwalsertal (in addition to cold drinks and icecream).

After all, what could be better than dipping your feed into a cold Kneipp pool after hiking or cooling your arms in the clear mountain water after a challenging bike ride. Kneipp is healthy in every way thinkable and an absolut tip in summer: As soon as you take your frist steps in the pleasantly cool water, the steep ascents and sweat from the last hours are forgotten. Just breath in deeply and come to rest.

In order for the refreshing & energizing effects of the fresh mountain spring water to take full effect, we have a few tips for your next Kneipp walk:

In order for the refreshing & energizing effects of the fresh mountain spring water to take full effect, we have a few recommendations for your next Kneipp walk:

Water treading | Arm bath

  • Take a seat and come to rest if you are still a bit out of breath from the ascent
  • Roll up your pants or sleeves and walk slowly through the pool - lifting one leg out of the water with each step (stork step!). During the arm bath, dip the arms down to about the middle of the upper arm
  • Match the duration to your cold sensitivity - stop when it hurts. Afterwards, just wipe off the water - the stimulus is extended by the evaporative cold.
  • After the bath, ensure active rewarming by running, walking or lightly swinging the arms.

Important: Treading water and an arm bath should not be done in quick succession, as this results in an overstimulation of the body.

If that wasn't enough relaxation, the views at the natural Kneipp areas as well as the cozy wooden loungers next to the Kneipp area will make the whole experience perfect. Depending on which mountain view you want to enjoy, you can choose between the following four places:

And while we still have our feet in the Kneipp pool, we ask ourselves: Can this summer actually get any better? Probably not... ?

Note: The applications are not recommended for cold feet or hands, bladder and kidney diseases, organic heart disease or severe arterial circulatory disorders.

GO WITH THE FLOW

Flow: In psychology, this is the blissful feeling experienced when in a state of complete and total absorption in an activity. Two days of total immersion following the course of the Schwarzwasserbach, from its source to the Walserschanze . . . An author experiences the flow ...
