Description

The Kleinwalser Valley is known not only for its unique landscape. The historical background of this high-Alpine valley, full of variation, is reflected in interviews with contemporary historical witnesses which are recorded in the Walser Cultural Walking Tour. For instance, on a stroll around the village of Mittelberg you can discover the Uusrüafschdei, which was a traditional oral messaging system used up into the 20th century. Sinners and penitence crosses, chapels as protection from avalanches, Walser legends and building culture in its purest form – all this will accompany you on a journey through history.
